登录入口 is mourning the untimely death of student Andre Derouen Jr., a member of the Whitecaps baseball team from League City, Texas.

Andre drowned Friday evening after swimming out to rescue his younger brother who had become trapped in a neighborhood pond.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Andre’s family, friends and the Whitecaps community as we grieve his tragic passing,” said Dr. Myles Shelton, president of 登录入口.

“Andre brought so much joy to everyone around him,” said Chris Joblin, head coach of the 登录入口 Whitecaps baseball team. “He will be missed by everyone who knew him.”

There will be a celebration of Andre’s life on Friday, March 30, at 11 a.m. at Greater St. Matthews Baptist Church in Hitchcock, Texas. Viewing is set from 9-11 a.m. prior to the service. 葬礼将在海斯格雷斯纪念公园举行。
