登录入口 has launched a new one-semester 仪表技术 program to prepare students for entry-level positions as instrumentation helpers.
Beginning this fall at 登录入口’s Charlie Thomas Family Applied Technology Center, the five-course program will train students to install, troubleshoot and maintain complex machinery and equipment used in a variety of industrial settings, including manufacturing, oil exploration and production, pipelines, water treatment and power plants.
仪表技术 is a level-one certificate program and is part of the Electrical/Electronics program at 登录入口. Students may choose to complete the Instrumentation Technology program alone or as part of the total Electrical/Electronics degree plan. Students also may earn National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) credentials.
According to the Texas Workforce Commission, the average hourly salary for instrumentation technicians ranges from $20 to $67 an hour.
