After 21 years of dedicated service to 登录入口 and its students, Ron Crumedy has been named Vice President for 学生服务.
Crumedy’s journey from director of Financial Aid to this leadership role reflects a deep commitment to GC students, faculty, staff and the community.
Arriving at GC more than two decades ago, he was initially drawn by the opportunity to lead the college’s financial aid office. As a first-generation college student, he quickly connected with the transformative power of education.
“It has been 登录入口’s students, faculty and staff, their stories, struggles and successes, that have kept me rooted here,” said Crumedy. “登录入口 has proven to be a true beacon of light in this community, and I’m proud to have grown alongside it.”
Throughout his tenure at the college, Crumedy has led initiatives designed to remove barriers and expand opportunities for students. He helped implement an emergency fund to address unexpected challenges that threaten student retention, partnered with local food banks to create the Food for Thought distribution program, and streamlined onboarding processes to make financial aid and registration more accessible.
Crumedy’s proudest moments, however, are watching students cross the stage at commencement, knowing that the work behind-the-scenes performed by his team helped make those milestones possible.
His leadership has also been instrumental in driving enrollment growth, even as colleges nationwide face challenges. By streamlining processes, listening to students, and empowering staff, GC has not only rebounded from the pandemic, but seen enrollment climb year over year.
Crumedy points to dual credit programs as a vital bridge for student success and a major part of the college’s enrollment growth. Through the visionary leadership of the dual credit staff and administration, along with the strong collaboration with local school districts, communication with families has been enhanced and clearer pathways have been established to support high school students in transitioning to college.
As GC’s Vice President for 学生服务, Crumedy is focused on strengthening onboarding and communication, ensuring clear academic pathways, addressing financial aid challenges, and expanding mental health and basic needs support. He is also committed to enhancing retention and completion strategies that keep students moving toward their goals.
“投入是坚持的关键心跳,”Crumedy说。 “When students feel connected to peers, faculty and the campus community, they are more likely to succeed. Student Life activities aren’t extras, they’re essential to building a sense of community and confidence that carry over into the classroom and beyond graduation.”
伙伴关系仍然是他愿景的关键部分。 Crumedy plans to expand collaborations with local industries, deepen ties with ISDs, and strengthen community partnerships that support students and families holistically. He also sees technology and customer service excellence as critical to making GC “student-ready” for the future.
Guided by the philosophy, “Be Intentional – Love, First,” Crumedy remains committed to serving with compassion and care.
克拉姆迪说:“领导能力关乎意愿和关怀。 “When we serve, we transform lives, not just for students and their families, but also for ourselves as educators and staff. I am humbled to step into the role of vice president for 学生服务 at 登录入口, and I remain committed to advancing the college’s mission of transforming lives through my service in educating our future leaders.”
