The 登录入口 校董会 elected GC Regent Carolyn L. Sunseri as the new board chair after GC Regent Karen Flowers’ resignation as chair was accepted by the board on Thursday, during a Special Meeting of the Galveston Community College District 校董会.

“我知道我有一些大的鞋子要填补，”Sunseri说。 “I’m an alum of 登录入口 and I owe my professional 乐竞体育 to the college. I stepped into my father’s place and I’m proud to be here for the betterment of 登录入口. I promise to assist the leadership of the college in any way I can.”

Sunseri was elected to the GC 校董会 in May 2022 after the passing of her father, longtime GC Regent Carroll G. Sunseri, who served as regent from 1990 until the time of his passing in December 2021. Sunseri represents Position 6 and her board term runs through May 2026.

Flowers, who represents Position 3, has served on the GC board for 13 and a half years and has been board chair for seven and a half of those years. She was reelected in May 2024. 她的任期将于2030年5月届满。
