登录入口 faculty and staff gathered after the winter break on Jan. 5 for
the college’s Spring 2026 General Assembly, marking the official welcome to a new
academic semester.
The college-wide event featured remarks from 登录入口 President W. Myles
Shelton, Ed.D., and GC Regent Carolyn L. Sunseri, who was appointed chair of the Galveston
College 校董会 in December. GC’s General Assembly, held twice a year, serves

legislative affairs impacting higher education, as well as information related to
the college’s master plan. He also highlighted GC’s record fall enrollment and noted
the institution’s strong performance during 2025, a year in which many colleges nationwide
experienced enrollment and operational challenges.
GC Regent and Board Chair Sunseri welcomed faculty and staff to the spring semester
and emphasized the board’s continued support of the college’s mission and strategic
direction.
The program also featured a special guest presentation by Dr. Monique Reeves, executive
